I am a mom and a wife to four amazing children. Two of my children have been diagnosed with autism, and three have an inherited genetic disorder called PTEN, which requires ongoing medical evaluations, screenings, and treatments. Learning about the connection between PTEN, autism, and developmental delays has been a journey of constant learning, advocacy, and resilience.
Alongside the medical challenges, three of my children have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This means navigating countless school meetings, therapies, and educational plans to ensure my children receive the support they need to thrive. As an adult, I continue to learn more about PTEN and how deeply it is connected to autism and developmental differences.
There have been many moments that felt overwhelming—times that made me emotional and caused me to question everything. I have experienced fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. Yet in those moments, I realized something powerful: I am my children’s biggest advocate. Every challenge became one step toward progress, growth, and understanding.
There were times when I felt alone on this journey. Autism can feel isolating, especially when navigating complex systems of healthcare, education, and support. That feeling of loneliness is what shaped my purpose.
I support autism because I don’t want other families to walk this path alone. I want to share my experiences, knowledge, and connections with others navigating autism so they feel empowered, supported, and understood. My hope is that by building community and sharing resources, families can find strength, confidence, and reassurance—knowing they are never alone on this journey.
“Your generosity helps us move closer to providing essential resources and support for families and caregivers navigating the autism journey.”
